In 2014, after over a decade of music supervision in the world of film and marketing, Natalie Baartz launched Scorebird Music. The purpose being, to offer clients an artist driven, unique and sophisticated way to look at music for their projects. In turn Scorebird exposes groundbreaking artists to the world through the ever expanding media platforms. This also helps inspiring artists, to continue their careers in experimentation and creativity by funding potential albums and creative endeavours. Creations that are not in the name of commerce, BUT for pure art and self-expression.
Scorebird focuses on campaigns and projects with an artistic leaning and strives to work with clients that are constantly trying to push past the status quo. While representing artists music for all media, our focus for the first 4 years has been on movie trailers. In 2018, Scorebird is spreading its wings and dives into the commercial world. Now providing the same service to advertising clients, craving something innovative and trailblazing.
Scorebird works with a few select artists and catalogues which are at the forefront of experimentation and quality in Modern Composition and Instrumental music.
These include Berlin’s Denovali Records and London’s Village Green Recordings, which rosters boast some of the most forward thinking modern composers working in the UK & Europe today. Scorebird also cherry picks soundtracks from the ongoing movie releases from Warner Bros. Studios and STX Films. Some of these are scores from the top film composers in the world today, such Alexandre Desplat, James Newton Howard, Hans Zimmer and Cliff Martinez. Other artists we work with directly are 65 Days of Static, Andy Gray, Another i (Tom Hodge), Blake Neely, Daniel Pemberton, Danny Bensi & Saunder Jurriaans, David Wingo, Eskmo, Giles Lamb, Keith Kenniff, Paul Leonard-Morgan, Philip Sheppard, Richie Kohan, Rob Simonsen and Samuel Karl Bohn.
Scorebird’s music has been used in two Super Bowl trailers and garnered a Clio music nomination for the trailer for Tim Burton’s “Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children”. We have had our music licensed by all of the major and independent Film Studios in multiple campaigns; including ones for such high-brow directors as Sofia Coppola, Tim Burton, Robert Zemeckis, Clint Eastwood, Robert Rodriguez and most recently Alexander Payne, Darren Aronofsky and Ridley Scott.
